Will you give your heart to Local 108?
Union County Sheriff’s Office Local 108 has partnered
with Law Explorer Post 629 in order to aid the group in its
community service project of raising awareness of the
effects of bullying.
Law Explorer Post 629 is a non-profit organization for
middle and high school students with an interest in law and
government.
After bullying led to the suicide of a local middle school
student, the explorers decided to focus this year’s community project on bullying. The goal of this year’s project is to
gather 220,000 hearts with messages of support written on
them from all over the country.
Once all the hearts are collected, they will be gathered
together to form one large heart of support.
Local 108 is asking for help from its brother and sister
members to help gather hearts from PBA members, their
friends and family, local schools, and any other sources that
may be available.
To participate, go to Local 108’s website, www.njspbalocal108.com, and click on the “heart” icon to bring up a
printable heart. Then simply print out the heart, write a
message of support for those who are the targets of bullying, and mail it to: PBA Local 108, 2 Broad Street, Elizabeth,
NJ 07207 by Wednesday, June 25. d
