Maywood Local 102 displays bearded benevolence Berkeley Heights 144 goes all in for Casino Night Maywood Local 102 joined the efforts of NJ State PBA Locals across the state that dedicated a month — or three — to raise awareness for testicular cancer and men’s health by participat- ing in No-Shave November. Officer Tim Cook launched Local 102’s annual initiative to forgo shaving for October, November and December. May- wood Police Chief Joseph Natale encouraged the many Local 102 members who decided to participate in the fundraiser, with each officer contributing $100 a month. After three months of scruff, Local 102 raised more than $4,000, which was donated to the Betty Torricelli Institute for Breast Cancer and the John Theurer Cancer Center at Hacken- sack University Medical Center. A portion of the money raised was also distributed to fami- lies in need. Berkeley Heights Local 144 held its annual Casino Night on Jan 12. Many members, including NJ State PBA Executive Vice President Marc Kovar, and law enforcement supporters attended the event, where Local 144 welcomed two new hon- orary silver card members. 56 NEW JERSEY COPS ■ FEBRUARY 2019
