Family fun after the sun in Berkeley Heights
On Aug. 7, Berkeley Heights Local 144 kicked off its first Na-
tional Night Out event. PBA President Ed Gaffney and Chief John
DiPasquale teamed up to deliver a night of family fun that in-
cluded a bounce house, dunk tank and hot dogs along with stat-
ic displays of vehicles and equipment. DiPasquale elicited a few
laughs from local community members by being the first victim
of the dunk tank.
In keeping with its community-friendly spirit, Gaffney said
he saw the event as an opportunity to get residents out with re-
cent graduates of the annual Police Youth Academy to continue
building their relationship with the Berkeley Heights commu-
nity.
Berkeley Heights Local 144 showed community members a
great time, even managing to escape a little rain.
