Recipient Profiles
Katye Trexler is a 2016 NFP scholarship recipient. Katye is a senior at Marywood Univer-
sity in Scranton. After admiring her mother’s dedication to the profession, Katye decided to
pursue nursing as a career. She is an active leader in her class, president of the Marywood
student nursing association, and proud student mentor.
My NFP scholarship allowed me to commit to my classwork and studies.
Upon graduating, I know that I will make lasting changes in patients’ lives.
Laura Adams is a 2017 scholarship recipient with plans to become a pediatric nurse.
She is a passionate community volunteer and service chair of the University of Pittsburgh’s
Nursing Student Association.
When I’m not studying, I spend time volunteering alongside different community groups
and agencies where I gain tools to holistically help my future patients.
