Our History NFP was founded in 1983 as a private 501(c) (3) foundation. Headquartered in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, NFP provides charitable support to the Pennsyl- vania State Nurses Association (PSNA). In 2009, NFP committed to bolstering public and private confidence by improving our structure, revitalizing processes, and enhancing fundraising. Through diligent work, NFP acquired the Seal of Accreditation for Standards of Excellence from the Pennsylvania Association of Nonprofit Organizations (PANO). With these standards, donors, corporations, and foundations know that NFP meets their needs through ethical practices and accountability. Since 2009, NFP has received two planned gifts and a restricted scholarship fund. It has established a memorial fund to research post-traumatic stress disorder. In 2016, NFP became a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and CREDC/Regional Chamber of Commerce. The gift of scholarships from friends and alumni help students realize their aspirations to the fullest. To date, NFP has awarded more than $173,000 to more than 120 nursing students. NFP has proudly helped nursing students and professionals by providing them an opportunity to focus on their studies and to be well pre- pared for the years of service they will provide. VISION Ensure nurses for tomorrow. MISSION To be the premier charitable organization for professional nurses in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
