Dads are welcomed and encouraged to participate in Nurse-Family Partnership. NFP nurses can help dads build the confidence and skills to be a great dad. Dads are good emotional and practical support—who doesn’t need another set of hands to calm a fussy baby or change a diaper?

With the help of Nurse-Family Partnership, mom and dad can be confident in their skills to build a strong family.

DAD Involvement IN Nurse-Family Partnership

● 50% of NFP clients have at least one visit attended by the dad of the child

● 13.4% of all nurse home visits nationally are attended by dads

● In 2017, dads attended 68,101 visits with an NFP nurse

CONTACT WITH DAD

● At enrollment, 76% of NFP mothers report having daily contact with the dad of the child

● 11% of moms have no contact with the dad when they enroll in NFP

● 86% of NFP moms who had daily contact with the dad at intake continued to have daily contact with the dad when they left NFP

MARITAL STATUS

● 83% of mothers are not married when they enroll in NFP

● 10% of women who were not married at enrollment were married when they left NFP

● Of married NFP moms at intake, 94% were still married when they left NFP

LIVING WITH A PARTNER

● At enrollment, 47% of NFP mothers report living with a partner

● 90% of NFP women who were living with a partner at intake were still living with a partner when they left the program
