Vroom is an initiative started by the Bezos Family Foundation in Seattle to further their focus on education from birth through high school. Vroom tools apply the science of brain development to empower parents to turn everyday moments into brain building moments. Vroom believes that every parent has the ability to be a brain builder for their child and so does Nurse-Family Partnership! So partnering with Vroom for a pilot project was of course a no-brainer. We see this as another great resource to empower our moms to be the best parents they can be.

NFP engaged with the Bezos Family Foundation for a 12-month pilot that will provide participating NFP sites an opportunity to utilize Vroom materials to enable clients to learn basic brain building concepts in conjunction with every day activities. The materials offered are both technology based and in cards and games and include short, easy-to-use activities for new moms to interact with their babies in ways that will enhance development.

What is Vroom?

New science tells us that our children’s first years are when they develop the foundation for all future learning. Every time we connect with them, it’s not just their eyes that light up—it’s their brains too. In these moments, half a million neurons fire at once, taking in all the things we say and do. We can’t see it happening, but it’s all there, all at work. That’s why Vroom is here.

Vroom turns shared moments into brain building moments. Whether it’s

mealtime, bathtime, or anytime in between, there are always ways to nurture

our children's growing minds.
