Why? Because too many low-income, first-time pregnant mothers and their children suffer from chronic poverty, poor health and other social conditions that carry a high price tag in terms of their human toll and monetary costs. Nurse-Family Partnership focuses on the health, well-being and self-sufficiency of low-income, first-time mothers and their children. Four decades of research have shown Nurse-Family Partnership’s favorable impact on pregnancy outcomes, child health and development, as well as mother’s life course development. With approximately 33,000 families enrolled at any point in time, Nurse-Family Partnership currently reaches only 9% of eligible families.
So we asked ourselves
“How can we reach
more families in
need?” This past year
we launched a
national enrollment
and outreach
campaign designed
to directly connect
with vulnerable
pregnant women. The campaign has generated thousands of referrals.
The next step is to increase Nurse-Family Partnership’s capacity to serve these women. We have listened to your feedback and know that you need secure funding and program expansion to make a greater impact on population health and poverty. To that end we’ve created The Incentive Fund. This unique first-time opportunity will provide funding to agencies wanting to expand or launch Nurse-Family Partnership in their community. The Incentive Fund lets us partner with those seeking to improve access and quality of care for the most vulnerable families, and expand the impact of public and private dollars to optimize this effort.
This exceptional funding opportunity will help reach more moms and provide access to the Nurse-Family Partnership program. Well-positioned applicants are welcomed to pursue this funding option.
