As I will be on the road when the September issue is due, please forward any contributions for the next All Torque before 21st of August. Cheers, Kate Manager of Bega Valley Meals on Wheels Plus, Mallacoota Madness By Peter Faulks ‘I’m gonna regret this’, I thought as we pulled out of Eden wharf, ‘It’s gonna be cold, wet, and windy…’ Well it was cold, it was a bit windy, and as Les, Bruce and I crossed the border it did get wet. But at least the wind had died down by then. It’s been a while since I’d been on the Mallacoota road… I’d forgotten how nice it was. The conditions dictated taking it very easy, and the subsequent lack of airflow caused my visor to fog up. Opening it up a crack helped with the fog, but now I had rain getting in… C'est la vie. Well, we got there, and like three half drowned rats we made a bee-line for the fire in the bistro at the pub. The ride back was slightly less wet, and while still a bit chilly, it was not bad. Well I enjoyed it anyway. I do, however, need a decent helmet; and I guess I should invest in some wet weather gear one of these days. As to regretting it, well no, I didn’t.
