Construction will be done with
readily available, CNC routed
aluminum sandwich panels, to
avoid complex molds and laborintensive layup, significantly
cutting down manufacturing
complexity, time and cost, while
offering a performance close to
molded monocoques. To further
avoid manufacturing of complex
molds, the wing profiles will use
the
moldless
manufacturing
technique tested in UoP4e, with a
hotwire-cut foam core wrapped
in carbon fiber. Powertrain
performance target figures will
be achieved using a single electric motor over multiple, for manageable
cost and complexity. Steering system will use a kart-style pitman arm
which simplifies the design, saves significant cost and weight with no
performance penalty.
