New Volunteer Committees
It is no secret that volunteers are the cornerstone to our council success. For that reason, we have created two new volunteers committees to be more involved in council processes and procedures.
These two committees start a new direction for Girl Scouts—Dakota Horizons,
in which volunteers are increasing their presence
at the council level and providing invaluable service and input to GSDH.
Check out our two new committees below.
Our volunteers deserve recognition for their amazing service to our girls and council! The Volunteer Recognition Committee (VRC) will assist in forming a volunteer recognition system at GSDH, and also help review and bestow Adult Awards. This committee is a hybrid committee and will consist of both volunteers and council volunteer staff. We currently have Sally Domke, Northeast District who was selected based on her dedication to volunteerism and enthusiasm for volunteer recognition at GSDH.
We are looking for more volunteers to fill the following roles:
NW District-One Volunteer Recognition Committee member
SW District-One Volunteer Recognition Committee member
SE District-One Volunteer Recognition Committee member

Volunteer Advisory Committee
The Volunteer Advisory Committee (VAC) consists of seven GSDH volunteers that meet monthly with council staff to exchange ideas and information and provide feedback on new initiatives, ideas or proposals. These volunteers applied for the position and were selected based on their outstanding dedication with Girl Scouting.
