Jai Hind! I am Senior under officer Pooja Joshi

(KA17SWA612070) from 32 Karnataka Battalionl have recently attended Special National integration camp held Atlee from 18 June 2019 14 July 2019.

I spent some of the best part of my life in Leh and gathered a huge ocean of beautiful memories. The route to the camp site was amazing. We reached Nagrota, Jammu 0n 21St june where we all directorates assembled for medical check up. Next day we marched to Srinagar from J&K transportation buses. We had a night halt there and again we resumed

our journey in the early hours of day to Dras. We reached Dras and stayed for the night in the Army Transit Camp. We were catered and cared well in every transit camp. Next morning we headed for Leh (Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre). On the way to Leh, we passed through Chenani Nashri Tunnel, Zojila Pass,Draupadi

Kund, Maskow valley, Magnetie hill, Nimmo and many other beautiful sites.

Our camp location was simply breathtaking. We were flanked by the mountains on both side. The accommodation and the food was satisfactory. The staff were supporting and understanding. As listed all the inter directorate competitions commenced. I participated in each and every competition also we were the winner of Volleyball and Throwball matches conducted. Our performance in other competitions was also commendable.

Throughout the camp we tried to achieve the aim of the camp i.e. National Integration. We interacted, learnt about each other’s culture, language, beliefs and customs. We got to know about our country throughout its length and breadth in a National Integration Awareness Presentation done by every directorate.

Camp commandent, Brigadier RG Patil and deputy camp commandent CO Pankaj Attri (3 J&K NCC) were the men of great honour and high discipline. They took care of us in every possible way. We were taken for sightseeing. We saw Kargil War Memorial, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib,Shanti Stupa, Sindh Ghat, Leh market, Hemis Monastery, Ladakh Scouts Hall Of Fame and Zorawar Fort. ADG of J&K Lieutenant-Colonel G S Satyarthi Visited and shared his words of wisdom with us. Few Army veterans came and shared their nail biting stories with us.

Presentations and seminars were organized on Kargil war, Siachen Glacier and all the geographical disputes that took place till date. This camp fostered National pride in me and enabled leadership qualities, Character building,Values of brotherhood and adaptability.

Overall I had a great experience at SNIC Leh and carried some unforgettable memories. I am very thankful to NCC, my group and my unit for giving me such an amazing opportunity.
