l am Pooja Joshi, Student of fifth Semester Mechanical Engineering department.

I have attended 8 NCC camps in total. I hold the rank of Senior Under Officer. I have scored A grade in both A and B certificate examination. I was successful in getting the “Best Camp Senior award”.l also was the parade commander and guard commander for almost all parades, this in fact boosted my confidence.

The most wonderful journey of my life was to Visit Leh ladakh which was a part of Jammu Kashmir and now an Union Territory. It was a Special National Integration Camp which comes once in 10 years. I was lucky enough

to be one among the 10 members who represented Karnataka and Goa Directorate.

The purpose of this camp was to bring together all the cadets across India and learn different cultures , traditions and the way of living. The theme was based on 20th Anniversary of Kargil war and was to educate the cadets more about the Kargil war and its heroes. Such camps do motivate students to join armed forces and provide preferential treatment while joining in the three Wings of armed forces, namely the Army, Navy and the Air force.

After reaching the camp site we learned how to adjust to the sudden change in the situations and to adapt to the people around us. We were also introduced to many cultures of India. We came to know about the various customs that

are practiced in their culture . We were exposed to much broader concepts and ideas about people living in other places that we did not knew before.

As a senior of my directorate I had to have a proper information of the events and organize myself as well as my directorate. There were changes according to the situation so I had to mentally prepare for my events as well

as of the rest of my cadets. It was also my duty to try my best to show a good impression to the other cadets across India. I actively took part in National Integration Awareness Presentation on Karnataka and Goa Directorate. Debate was held on the Topic “Should the Cultural ties between India and Pakistan be relieved to achieve bilateral relationship between India and Pakistan?”. Group dance was held representing

Karnataka Culture.

This kind of opportunity does not always knock one’s life very often. I grabbed the opportunity of attending once in 10 years camp and my mother pushed me forward. This made me

a strong and I could go to Jammu and Kashmir for one whole month to a state which is known as one of the most disturbed state in India. Idid not face a single problem. Of course there were difficulties right from the way on to Ladakh but that didn't stop me in achieving my goal.

Apart from this, Recently I was the captain of the Throw ball team of our college and had attended Zonal level games at Hospet . I have great interest in extra curricular activities and do take part in Essays, Debates and Seminars very often . I take this opportunity to thank all my teachers and my parents for their encouragement and guidance.

Thank you one and all.
