miyaxwhen! i am so honored and excited about this amazing opportunity!
It’s humbling to read the generous praise from Malcolm. The truth is I’ve
been hanging around Heyday for the past couple of years as a sort of fan.
Within that time Malcolm has brought so many wonderful people into my life,
some of whom are my new co-workers.
My dear friend and predecessor Lindsie Bear has done a magnificent job
growing the magazine. I am thrilled to get to work with another one of my
treasured friends, Vincent Medina, who will help this “SoCal gal” get to know
the beautiful north a lot better. I also look forward to getting to know one of
my Chumash neighbors, the magazine’s talented graphic designer Tima Link.
For this first issue placed in my hands, we are delighted to have some
milestone entries, including an interview about California Tribal College’s
inaugural Le
