Heart and soul A passion for people and timeless, harmonious design underscores all Kira Gray’s projects Right through her school years, award- winning designer Kira Gray enjoyed all things artistic, from sculpture to art history. However, it was creating her grandmoth- er’s kitchen that set Kira on her career path. “After travelling abroad, I undertook a four-year Bachelor of Design degree, with a strong emphasis on architecture,” says Gray. “I then worked at two other design houses, before coming to Fyfe Kitchens. “Fyfe has been a perfect fit for me – I’ve been designing kitchens, bathrooms, and built-in custom furniture elements with the company for over 18 years now.” The experienced designer says she enjoys creating classic and contemporary spaces, but above all favours a timeless look that suits the actual home that the kitchen, bathroom or laundry is part of. “Rather than designing uniform white spaces that lack interest, I prefer to create environments with warmth and character – such as this lacquered and oak cabinetry kitchen. This project also helped open up the wider interior, which the owners loved.” Kira says she loves her work as there’s always something new and it also lets her indulge her other passions – helping others achieve their dreams and just having fun.
