To provide the required cooktop functionality, Malone specified two Smeg PGF31G 30cm gas cooktops, a matching PGA32C ceramic hob and PGF30T stainless steel teppanyaki grill plate. The teppanyaki plate seals food quickly, and is well suited to cooking Japanese-style dishes with meat, fish and vegetables. More recently, the designer has added a Smeg coffee machine, which sits on a custom-designed traditional cabinet in a corner of the kitchen.
