them. This entrance on the lower
Beach Street frontage leads to
stairs up to the atrium level.

blocks of apartments have
been inserted into the building.
For the facade blocks, the
outer apartments have street
frontages, while the inner ones
face into the atriums.
Right:To get light into the
middle of the expansive building,
architects Cameron Chisholm
Nicol cut away two sections of
roof running the length of the
building, leaving all the original
beams and columns intact.
