Dangers From Flooding
It was a blast from the past when we
learned that Nick DeStefano from
The Spiders had been in the band Y
Fly 2 London in the eighties. One of
that band’s biggest songs (“Just Say
No”) was on an old WDHA 105.5 FM
compilation in our collection. Turns
out Bongo Boy Records has re-released the Y Fly 2 London record
and the band has a website at YFly2London.com. Bongo Boy Records
has also released Nick’s song about
what it’s like to be a flood victim -- a
situation he knows all too well.
The song “We Seek Higher
Ground” was inspired by his home
being flooded several times over
the past decade and being badly
damaged during Hurricane Irene.
His house has been designated a
Severe Repetitive Loss Property
which subjects him to 25% flood insurance increases every year.
