The show features songs from Broadway classics like Hair, Dream Girls, Les Miserables, Tommy, Little Shop of Horrors, Westside Story, Wicked, and Man of La Man- cha. It also dives into songs from such films as Superman, Live and Let Die, Grease, Arthur, and Dirty Dancing. Lisa Sherman is the creator of this memorable night of music, having 15 years of show busi- ness under her belt. Sherman has also modeled (“Members Only” sportswear and “Maidenform” lingerie) and appeared on televi- sion in both commercials and her own exercise program sponsored by Nike. Most recently, Sherman has performed at the Count Basie, Strand, and Algonquin Theatres, put on a one-woman production and participated in tribute acts to Paul McCartney, Fleetwood Mac and more. Franke Previte, special guest, wrote “(I’ve had) The Time of My NJ STAGE 2017 - Vol. 4 No. 5 Life” and “Hungry Eyes,” both fea- tured songs in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing. The former song was Grammy nominated and won both an Academy and a Golden Globe award. Franke was also chosen, alongside Cyn di Lauper, Desmond Child, Barry Mann, and more, to represent America in Moscow’s “song writer’s summit” as a top American song writer. Previous to this, Previte sang with the group Franke and the Knockouts in the 1980s, which turned out three songs on the Billboard Top 100. Aside from winning Vocalist of the Year, co-star Kristin Cochran has worked with many big names, including South Side Johnny, Bob- by Kimball Toto, Gary US Bonds and many on and off Broadway performers.
