INSPIRATION REVIEW The Power of the Heart: Finding Your True Purpose in Life by Baptist de Pape Lawyer-turned-filmmaker, Baptist de Pape, shares uplifting quotes, exercises and thoughts gleaned from conversations with consciousness luminaries he interviewed for this book and his documentary film, “The Power of the Heart.” T here are deep thoughts and feelings contained in this deceptively small book, such that each chapter ending with meditative exercises has the power to transform readers to experience gratitude, forgiveness, compassion, and gradually trusting the process of feeling, thinking, and living from the heart. I love the way Baptist de Pape includes a short summary of w hy he set out to create a film documentary and book about the subject of finding peaceful calm through heart-centered awareness that comes through clearly when embracing present moment awareness in a state of silence. From a powerful initial epiphany, de Pape gained the courage to pursue a brand new calling to explore the heart’s many powers, including: intuition, intention, gratitude, forgiveness, resilience and love. The Power of the Heart is written in three sections, beginning with the first part that introduces readers to paths to discovering the language, wisdom, and deep intelligence of the heart. The second section encourages readers to explore the internal awakening of exceptional intuitive wisdom and courage we can feel when learning to listen to our hearts, and the third part takes the reader through a review of how to re-engage with the world of relationships, work, family and friends in the world. 11 | NEW CONSCIOUSNESS REVIEW I especially enjoy the Contemplations included at the end of each chapter, as these experiential meditations and exercises bring key ideas from the reading into meaningful activities that can show readers how it feels to activate the transformative, healing powers of the heart. These Contemplations are short to read, spanning just two pages, and simple to do, usually taking just a few minutes. Readers who savor the sensory delight of reading an actual book in hand will be thoroughly pleased with the look and feel of the hardcover edition of this book, with it’s embossed jacket on the outside and gorgeous portraits of spiritual teachers including: Isabelle Allende, Maya Angelou, Deepak Chopra, Jane Goodall, Howard Martin, Rollin McCraty, Eckhart Tolle, Neale Donald Walsch, Marianne Williamson and Gary Zukav. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND “THE POWER OF THE HEART” TO ANYONE WHO WONDERS WHETHER THEY ARE LIVING THEIR MOST FULFILLING LIFE, OR WHO WISHES TO DISCOVER JUST HOW GOOD IT CAN FEEL TO LIVE A LIFE OF PURPOSE AND MEANING.
