New Club Guide (updated 2014) | Page 5

Handicaps Handicaps must be established for all members who don’t have USGA/GHIN Handicaps with a minimum of five (5) attested eighteen-hole scores, or ten (10) attested nine-hole scores, played on PWGA approved golf courses. A PWGA approved golf course requires a course to have a minimum of 3,000 yards for eighteen holes of regulation golf. The members of your club will receive their handicapping service through USGA/GHIN. There is a computer available for the use of your club and for your members to post scores at the golf course. This computer is shared with the Northern California Golf Association (“NCGA”). Your club’s Handicap Chair will receive instruction on how to set up and operate your club on the computer. The club Handicap Chair will be able to administer the system either on the golf course computer or online from the comfort of home. A Ghin Tips document with helpful hints for your club handicap chair will be sent to the Handicap Chair upon approval of your club membership. Reports via Club Handicap Chair Your club handicap chair may print reports monthly or as needed via the club computer or from the handicapper’s home computer. Individual golfers are encouraged to sign up with their email address so they receive their Handicap Index (eRevision) twice each month (1st and 15th) directly to their email account. Along with the eRevision comes the PWGA News, with lots of valuable information for our members. If a member does not have an email account the club handicapper will be able to print a sticker for the golfer indicating their Handicap Index for that revision.
