Sip locally produced wines in downtown tasting rooms and at the stunning surroundings of our local wineries. Whether you enjoy a cool crisp sauvignon blanc or chardonnay or you prefer a full-bodied zinfandel or petite syrah, you will find it grown and produced on the fertile soils of Nevada County.

Meet the people who grow your food. Know and understand where your fruits, vegetables and meats are raised and harvested. Fresh, organic produce and meat available at a number of farmers markets during the peak seasons. For fall and winter you can participate in community supported agriculture (CSA) and still receive organically grown produce.

Be entertained by world-famous musicians and local musical talent. The Center for the Arts brings performers like The Indigo Girls, Melissa Ethridge, Chris Isaak, Joan Biaz, Marc Cohn and others to Western Nevada County. Music festivals abound almost year round with The Blue Grass Festival, Strawberry Festival, World Music Festival and The Celtic Festival. Local musical talent perform nightly at local restaurants, wine tasting rooms, street fairs and other venues throughout the County.

Immerse yourself in history. Historic State Mine Parks, Cornish and Victorian Christmas, St. Piran's Day, Gold Rush Days events, Historical Society, Narrow Gage Railroad Museum and so much more offer opportunities to learn the history of this great area.

Nevada County offers more opportunities than any other community in which I have had the pleasure of living. It has even offered me the opportunity to nurture my entrepreneurial spirit and start two small businesses on focusing on growing other small businesses.
