Because the MT Connect system
is made up of standards compliant
component products, which are
designed and manufactured to conform
to the requirements of the structured
wiring cabling standards (ISO/IEC
11801:2002, EN 50173-1:2006 and
TIA 568B.3 and the data centre cabling
standards EN50173-5:2007 and TIA
942), ADP could be sure that the system
was designed and built to perform at the
highest level and could be relied upon
for years to come.
10GPlus Zone Cable
The Brand-Rex 10GPlus Zone Cable
used in both ADP data centres is
specially designed for use in challenging
data centre environments. Smaller
and lighter than conventional cables,

this high performance Augmented
Category 6 screened solution facilitates
a 100 per cent increase in the number
of cables per cable tray. The 10GPlus
Zone cable is also more flexible and
easier to install, reducing installation
times on site in Paris and Barcelona.
On a time sensitive project such as this
it was important that the installation
was carried out without hold ups or
delays and the 10GPlus Zone Cable
helped to ensure that operations ran
smoothly throughout. “The installation
took place over four weeks and
included the fitting of all of racks,
cabinets, PDUs, fibre trays and testing,”
said Delille. Trouvé continues, “The
installation was incredibly smooth with
all parties working well together. The
commitment and professionalism of
the Brand-Rex team was perfect.”
Right Decisions
With the new data centre facilities now
nearing completion, ADP is hoping
that its latest IT investment will help
to consolidate the company’s position
as the leader in the payroll, personnel
administration and human resources
management fields. As the data centre
teams in Paris and Barcelona familiarise
themselves with the new technologies,
they can now look back at the network
infrastructure installation and feel that
they made the right decisions at the right
times.
