Dubrovnik airport rolls out new data
centre with ABB power technology
A new data centre for Dubrovnik Airport
in Croatia is relying on advanced ABB
technology to ensure continuous, clean
power for its critical operations. ABB
has provided its DPA UPScale ST60
uninterruptible power supply (UPS) system
to the data ce ntre’s contractor, Rittal
GmbH & Co. KG, for installation in the
facility.
The project marks the latest step in
the long history of collaboration between
the two companies – an involvement
that has recently expanded following an
announcement of the global expansion of
their strategic collaboration in data centre
infrastructure operations.
With the construction of a new terminal
building, the amount of data that needed
to be generated and stored to serve the
nearly two million people using the airport
each year demanded the construction of
the new data centre. ABB and Rittal offered
a complete solution that uses ABB’s DPA
UPScale ST 60 system CBAT-120 battery
cabinets and the Rittal IT solutions. The
solutions include a Rittal security room
for highest physical security, an energy-
efficient IT cooling device Liquid Cooling
Package (LCP), TS-IT racks, the CMC
monitoring system for monitoring humidity
or temperature, and the modular power
distribution technology. n

Panduit has launched a range of physical network
security solutions to reduce network downtime, data
security breaches and device theft in enterprise and
data centre environments. New designs provide lock-
in and block-out capabilities at the RJ45 connector
interface, without interference with individual or
adjacent jack contacts.
Physical security of network installations and
data centre rack cabinets remain an issue within
organisations as device theft and cyber threats
continue to grow. New developments in the design
of RJ45 Plug Lock-In device, including a removable
security tool, prevent unauthorised removal of cable
and other network equipment or critical connections.
The design works with most patch cords, including
the new international standard’s compliant, small
diameter 28 AWG patch cables as well as bulkier
22 AWG and 24 AWG patch cords, and standard
faceplates, patch panels, IP cameras and other IP
devices, providing a highly secure solution across
a wide range of equipment. The lock-in device is
designed to work with a flush mount and recessed
jacks. Although it may not be compatible with all
jacks and overmolded cables and it is recommended
to test your specific patch cords and jacks prior to
widespread usage. n
