Laser Tools unveils portable inspection camera

Recently introduced by Warwickshire-based Laser Tools , this portable inspection camera allows users to easily perform visual inspections in hard to reach areas . Its lightweight , handheld design means that it is extremely portable , and the flexible semirigid camera probe is one metre long and just 3.9mm in diameter .
This very narrow diameter of the camera probe means that the inspection camera has numerous applications . Also included is a 90 ° mirror attachment for increased versatility .
When working in dark environments , the end of the probe is fitted with two LEDs which have six levels of brightness .
The results of the inspection are saved on an 8Gb Micro SD card ; to retrieve the recorded video and still images from the inspection camera you can either remove the Micro SD card or more simply just connect the camera up to a laptop or PC with the supplied USB lead . An RCA / Video-Out lead is also supplied which enables a larger screen ( with compatible Video-In socket ) to be used both when the camera is live or to view still images and video recordings . Second-generation wireless network tester from Netscout

RS Components has announced availability of a wireless network tester from Netscout , which it said provides fast , simple and accurate isolation and troubleshooting of wireless issues .
Supporting a large variety of maintenance and troubleshooting issues such as interference problems or access-point access and configuration , the new AirCheck G2 targets network system designers , technicians and maintenance engineers , as well as anyone working in an industrial or commercial building with a wireless network .
The AirCheck G2 is a rugged handheld purpose-built wireless tester that supports the latest Wi-Fi technologies ( 802.11a / b / g / n / ac ). The unit has a one-button AutoTest , which quickly provides a pass / fail indication of the wireless environment and identifies common problems . It also shows an instant view of test results including network availability , connectivity , utilisation , security settings , rogue hunting and interference detection .
The tester also enables connectivity to a centralised test results management platform – Link-Live – which facilitates greater job visibility , project control and fleet management for larger distributed environments .
Based on the original AirCheck Wi- Fi tester , the G2 unit builds on its legacy to offer additional functionality such as 802.11ac 3-stream radio , a 5-inch touchscreen display , Ethernet tests for AP backhaul verification , automatic uploads of basic connectivity tests to the Link- Live cloud service , and adjacent channel interference testing in AutoTest . Anritsu and ITRI collaborate on 400GE testing platform

Anritsu and Industrial Technology Research Institute ( ITRI ) have announced a collaboration to build a high-speed test lab to provide a bit error rate test ( BERT ) system with symbol rate up to 56Gbaud PAM4 and 56Gb / s NRZ per channel .
The BERT system will incorporate wideband optical spectrum analyser ( OSA ), high-precision pulse pattern generator ( PPG ) and high-sensitivity error detector ( ED ) modules for generating high quality PAM / NRZ test signal outputs with fast Tr / Tf , low jitter & noise , and high amplitude , and supporting high-sensitivity , real-time error detection and analysis functions .
With this BERT system implementation , ITRI is expected to become the leading test lab for testing 400GE & Silicon Photonics related applications in Asia , giving a further booster to Taiwan ’ s goal of becoming a R & D centre for highspeed photoelectric devices .
The system will use Anritsu ’ s Signal Quality Analyser MP1800A , a plug-in module type BERT that can provide high quality bit error rate analysis function using built-in PPG and ED modules .
Ivan Chen , general manager of Anritsu Taiwan , said , ‘ Anritsu is proud to partner with ITRI . Through this partnership , it validates the BER test capability of the Signal Quality Analyser MP1800A , while recognising Anritsu ’ s long-term commitment to fibre communication and high-speed circuits achievement .’ For further information visit : www . anritsu . com
