ON T HE CASE Branching out Arqiva has successfully completed its work to install unified public and enterprise Wi-Fi services for Nationwide Building Society’s high street network of around 700 branches, 16 administration centres and two data centres in the UK. The implementation of the Wi-Fi system, which was delivered in collaboration with Arqiva’s strategic partners Aerohive and Mobliciti, is part of Nationwide’s ongoing initiative to improve and streamline the digital banking experience of its customers and employees. The roll-out took place between March and August 2015. Nationwide’s Digital Agenda relies on it providing leading edge enabling technologies for colleagues and members. The new Wi-Fi service is already a major contributor in transforming the way in which Nationwide engages members in branch. The solution put in place for Nationwide is its both fully resilient and stand-alone, meeting the needs of staff and customers as well as ensuring a PCI compliant failover from the Nationwide corporate LAN. 12-13 On the Case.indd 12 University challenge The ICT infrastructure at Maynooth University, part of the National University of Ireland, supports a community of over 9,000 students and 800 staff.
