ESSENTIAL SELECTION

Anritsu ’ s WLAN test set supports IEEE802.11ac standard

Anritsu has released the new wireless connectivity test set MT8862A , an integrated one-box test set specifically for testing 802.11 WLAN devices . With built-in communications protocols , the MT8862A measures the performance of the WLAN devices in the actual operating state , and is the first test equipment of its kind to support all IEEE802.11ac / n / a / g / b standards .
The rapid expansion of the Internet of Things has meant that the use of WLAN technology is no longer just limited to mobile devices such as smartphones . It is now being used in a wide range of IoT applications , including home electronics such printers and TVs , the connected car , industrial equipment , sensors , and many more .
The wireless connectivity test set MT8862A is targeted at design and quality assurance of WLAN devices . It has built-in standard WLAN protocol messaging ( WLAN signalling ) with network mode for testing the transmitter and receiver performance of a WLAN device non-destructively and using an OTA ( Over The Air ) measurement .
The MT8862A offers faster integration into production , a universal solution for all WLAN chip sets , and is simpler to maintain and calibrate . It also reduces test system costs , increases production throughput , and delivers flexible WLAN testing . For further information visit : www . anritsu . com

Extensive range of Cryogenic cables available from Intelliconnect

Intelliconnect can now provide a wide range of cryogenic interconnect products . These high reliability cable assemblies use materials including ; stainless steel or niobium titanium cables and assemblies with bandwidths up to 40GHz and cupro-nickel cables , raw St / St and NbTi cables , crimp SMA and 2.9mm connectors , hermetic connectors , sealed adaptors , attenuators and low temperature hardware .
Intelliconnect cryogenic cables work to 2 K ( -271.15 ° C ) and typical applications include low temperature testing , medical and materials research . Intelliconnect customers can also specify their own cable assemblies using an online cable configurator from which the company will provide a quotation by return .
Intelliconnect has its own brand of semi-flexible 0.085in ( I405 ) and 0.141in ( I402 ) cables which are suitable for industrial , defence , security and test system applications . These cables offer a light , flexible alternative to semi-rigid types making system assembly and interconnection easier .
Intelliconnect 50ohm spiral strip shielded coaxial cables are flexible alternatives to semirigid coax and the unique shielding configuration offers a cost effective , low attenuation option . The use of strip / round braid composite shields results in low transfer impedance levels . For further information visit : www . intelliconnect . co . uk

Wieland introduces the wienet UMS 8-4PoE-W Ethernet switch

Wieland Electric ’ s range of industrial network solutions has just expended with the introduction of the wienet UMS 8-4PoE-W Ethernet switch . The switch is most suited to use with network devices that don ’ t require much power , such as IP cameras . The UMS 8-4PoE-W is equipped with eight Fast Ethernet ports , four of which are PoE capable with an injector function .
The switch also features power line EFT protection , broadcast storm and Ethernet ESD . All this aids in preventing network outages and disturbances . Up to 15.4W of power at 48V DC can be fed per PoE port with IEEE 802.3af .
The switches themselves can be operated at temperatures ranging from -40 ° C to 75 ° C and feature an IP30 rated metal housing with excellent EMC properties . Reliable operation is ensured by a 24V / 48V DC power supply with signalling relay which is particularly suited to complex industrial networks .
Wieland ’ s wienet UMS 8-4PoE-W is ideally suited for use with public and private wireless networks , VoIP phones , digital signage and IP cameras as well as situations where reaching an effective power outlet is problematic . For further information visit : www . wieland . co . uk

Iskratel launches new home gateway

Iskratel has launched the Innbox G69 – a new home gateway which will give operators more control over the services being delivered and provide customers with superior Wi-Fi performance and coverage .
Iskratel ’ s Innbox G69 allows additional managed access points to be added to the home gateway , increasing the number of Wi-Fi channels that can be accessed . Use of Power Line Communication ( PLC ) for the uplink ensures switching between access points does not cause disturbance , allowing Wi-Fi to be accessed in places the signal could not previously reach , such as basements or gardens . The device also selects the optimum Wi-Fi channel , guaranteeing best performance .
A number of monitoring and diagnostic functionalities have also been included in the latest software release . Operators can scan end users ’ connections and view information they can then use to improve the Wi-Fi settings , such as which users are online , connection speeds and transmit power . Quality of experience ( QoE ) and quality of service ( QoS ) are also addressed , as well as issues with speed and bandwidth . For further information visit : www . iskratel . com
