The full range of Environ racks are assembled in Birmingham where quality control is an integral part of the process to ensure that the racks are built to the highest standard , each and every time . Excel holds large stocks across the range and offers free next day delivery to the UK mainland , whatever the size of rack .

The choice is extensive with five core ranges including the Comms Rack ( CR ), Equipment Rack ( ER ), Server Rack ( SR ), Open Rack ( OR ) and Wall Rack ( WR ). Each range is available in a multitude of heights and widths and include many features to aid engineers to install equipment and cabling , quickly and efficiently .

The flagship Environ SR 800 Series has a load capacity of 1,300kg and comes in a choice of a 1,000mm or 1,200mm deep and is available in 29U , 42U and 47U heights . It has a stylish wave mesh front door and wardrobe style double mesh rear doors . Inside it includes high density vertical cable management and full height front and rear adjustable 19in profiles . With the quick release hinged side panels it makes access inside the rack quick and easy .

New to the Environ range is the CL Co-Lo rack that takes the existing qualities of the Environ range but with the added benefit of having secure , lockable compartments . Options available include choice of Black or Grey White , 42 and 47U overall height and a wide

selection of widths and depths . The CL rack is designed specifically for applications where equipment security is a priority , or where rack space is being used by different enterprise departments or clients within a shared facility . Customers can choose from two , three , and four compartments per rack , each of which can be individually secured and accessed via an aesthetically pleasing vented door with combination locks fitted as standard and options to upgrade to the electronic versions detailed below .

The CL rack will be available from May 2017 .

When Environ racks are installed as part of a total Excel solution , by an accredited Excel partner , they are covered by the 25-year warranty .

Electronic locks

To complement the Environ range , Excel offers the Environ Locking Solution that works in conjunction with Southco and BioConnect to provide an ergonomic and stylish solution for environments where security is paramount . The solution can be stand alone , networkable , integrate into Access Control systems , BMS and includes Biometrics .

Power distribution units

Excel has a long history in providing an extensive range of power distribution units ( PDUs ) and over the years has sold tens of thousands of units . The range includes three distinct ranges : Standard , Modular and Intelligent .

The Environ solution is just part of the Excel structured cabling solution , which includes copper , fibre optics , voice , residential and a full range of accessories .

In May 2017 Excel will launch a number of new products to its fibre solution – products will include new high density fibre panels with 144 fibres in 1U , LC fibre cassettes in OM3 , OM4 and OS2 , LC Uniboot patch cords in standard and pull tab options . The Excel copper range continues to lead the market in range , availability and performance with the majority of the Category 6A and Category 6 products also carrying independent third party verification from leading test house Delta , providing the proof that the products meet , and in many cases , exceed , the requirements set out in the relevant standards that is often required by tenders .

Excel can also provide bespoke copper and fibre pre-terminated products to suit any requirements . The products are predominantly manufactured at the head office in Birmingham and depending on the requirements can be turned around in a relatively short timescale . Where customers need a certain length of cable , then the cut to length cable service is available , so wastage on site is kept to a minimum .

With both the copper and fibre cables Excel is readily prepared for the introduction of the Construction Products Regulation ( CPR ) which relates to the enhanced testing and introduction of CE markings on the cables and comes into effect on 1st July .
