Huawei launches 4K solution for MSOs

Huawei has launched a 4K video network solution for multiple system operators ( MSOs ), which allows MSOs to achieve E2E IP video , and meets consumers ’ demands for UHD and personalised multiscreen videos .
Huawei ’ s 4K UHD solution covers core components including the video operation and delivery platform , bearer network device , converged fibre-coaxial access platform and video terminal .
The company says it has developed a unified cloudbased converged video platform , and new-generation fixedmobile video broadcasting and content delivery technologies .
Based on this platform and technologies , MSOs are able to deploy IP-based converged videos and multi-screen services comprehensively , and provide consistent personalised video viewing experience . In addition , Huawei has released a distributed converged cable access platform ( D-CCAP ) based on the HFC networks . This platform supports high performance DOCSIS 3.1 access , and delivers the industry ’ s largest access bandwidth of 10Gb / s .
By using this platform , Huawei says that MSOs can deploy IP-based omnimedia services which require high bandwidth and low latency , such as 4K UHD videos , 360 ° panoramic videos , augmented reality , virtual reality and smart home . For further information visit : www . huawei . com

Ideal Networks launches suite of solutions to help cable installers slash capital expenditure in half

Ideal Networks has announced the launch of Test4Less , a suite of products , services and payment methods to help companies installing and testing data cabling and networks to reduce capital expenditure , increase productivity and improve cash flow .
Tim Widdershoven , global marketing manager at Ideal Networks , says : ‘ Companies investing in multiple certifiers face the issue of increased expenditure and reduced ROI .
‘ We ’ ve also found that several businesses have invested in a new fleet of certifiers which now require an expensive upgrade to new models due to certifier discontinuation by the manufacturer .’
The range of Test4Less solutions has been specifically developed , Ideal Networks says , to address the common frustrations of data cable installers and systems integrators and provide cost effective solutions to help them overcome these challenges .
Tim says : ‘ We also discovered cable installers required a certifier such as a LanTek III on 25 per cent of their cable installations typically and on the remainder a less expensive cable transmission tester , such as SignalTek CT or SignalTek NT , could be utilised to provide proof of performance .
‘ These 25 per cent of cable installations include building specifications that require a cable certifier or if cable manufacturer warranties are required . With this simple approach , businesses could reduce capital expenditure on testers by up to 57 per cent .’ For further information visit : www . idealnetworks . net
