ESSENTIAL SELECTION Distribution deal Flex appeal Eaton has launched a new range of 1U and 2U enclosure power distribution units (ePDU), which has been specifically designed to help IT managers optimise intelligent power distribution in converged and hyperconverged infrastructure stacks and smaller IT applications. Available to customers within the EMEA region, the new ePDU range allows users of smaller IT racks to enjoy many benefits previously associated with the power management company’s vertical 0U ePDUs, including improved efficiency and enhanced business continuity. The new ePDUs provide intelligent power distribution solutions for applications where racks are not sufficiently high to allow the use of 0U ePDUs. They are also ideally suited for use in wall mount enclosures where no rear access is possible. All the new ePDUs have a plug retention feature and are suitable for operation at up to 60ºC, allowing them to be used in high temperature IT environments. Basic and Metered models are available now, with Switched, Metered Outlet and Managed models to be introduced to the range later this year. In order to help minimise network costs, up to eight ePDUs can be daisy chained from a single IP port and IP address. They also feature hot-swap capability for the control modules, which means that the modules can be exchanged or updated without interrupting the supply of power to the loads. Metered versions of the new ePDUs offer ± 1 per cent billing grade accuracy, making it easy to track energy usage. The new range supports mass configuration and mass upgrading, reducing administration time and improving overall efficiency. The new USB3-CR-6P is a not only a high speed 5Gb/s card reader/writer with full backward USB2 compliance, but it is compatible with almost any memory card on the market – ideal for the test and measurement market as integrators often need test data to be quickly removed from the test gear for analysis. The new breed of network analysers, OTDRs and Ethernet analysers now have the option to save data directly to removable storage, including the new SDXC standard which offers multiple gigabits of storage. Dynamode has a proven history of providing cost effective Wi-Fi solutions and this is set to continue with the introduction of soon to be released SuperScaler 1.2Gb/s 802.11ac USB devices which use both 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz for congestion free wireless data delivery. With the new range of professional access points, and even residential broadband, Wi-Fi gigabit speeds are fast becoming a reality – speeds which only a few years back would have be deemed almost impossible. For further information visit: Panduit has launched its new HD Flex 2.0 fibre cabling system. The latest addition to Panduit’s expansive line of fibre solutions, the HD Flex 2.0 fibre cabling system has been designed for ease of integration with existing fibre infrastructure by accommodating fibre cassettes and fibre adaptor panels (FAPs) with different port counts within the same innovative enclosure and panel. Six port or 12 port cassettes and FAPs can be deployed in virtually any combination to achieve up to 144 fibres (LC) or 864 fibres (MPO) per rack unit. This solution enables seamless port migration from 10Gb to 25/40/50/100Gb in the same RU space without replacing existing fibres and provides substantial savings. The HD Flex 2.0 fibre cabling system also provides a clear path for adopting Cisco Nexus 9000 Series Switches and ACI 40Gig and spine-leaf architecture with a reliable physical infrastructure. It offers low installation and test costs through the utilisation of 12 port cassettes, as fewer cassettes are required per RU of rack space. Available for immediate delivery, Panduit’s HD Flex 2.0 easily integrates with current and future systems through a full line of fibre enclosures, patch panels, cable managers, and zero RU brackets, which allows end users to deploy HD Flex cassettes and FAPs anywhere within the organisation. For further information visit: Industrial strength Schneider Electric has announced the availability of Gutor PXC, a standardised, fully industrial uninterruptible power supply (UPS) for harsh environments. Ideal for rugged and outdoor settings such as oil and gas exploration and production sites, marine and offshore environments and climates with extreme temperatures, the Gutor PXC protects critical equipment and industrial applications from damage due to power outages, surges, and spikes while providing short term battery power during an outage. Due to the solution’s standardised and flexible design, users including facility managers, engineers and contractors now have the ability to deploy a reliable and turnkey solution in a dramatically shorter time frame. Previously, customers looking to implement an industrial UPS solution in harsh environments had to design a fully customised solution to suit their infrastructure needs, which meant more time spent on development and higher costs. With this solution, Schneider Electric is providing customers with the ability to more efficiently and cost effectively implement industrial UPSs – helping to bridge the product gap between IT commercial UPSs and fully customised UPSs for harsh environments. The Gutor PXC offers a standardised and flexible design that comes available in a wide range of configurations to suit a variety of rugged operating environments, and as a result, users benefit from a significantly reduced engineering-to-order lead time and lower cost expenditure.
