Brocade extends Gen 6 Fibre Channel portfolio with entry level switch

Brocade has launched the G610 , a no-compromise storage switch for always-on connectivity to the all-flash data centre .
The company said this switch leverages the power of Brocade Gen 6 Fibre Channel technology , providing up to 32Gb / s performance , simplicity and enterprise class functionality that helps organisations adapt to dynamic workloads and new demands for always-on business operations .
Jack Rondoni , Brocade ’ s senior vice president of storage networking , said , ‘ The Brocade G610 switch reinforces Brocade ’ s continued commitment to Fibre Channel innovation to help customers derive more value from their applications and infrastructure .’
The Brocade G610 is an entry level switch designed for a variety of environments ranging from small shared storage fabrics to network edge deployments in data centres .
It offers high performance , proven reliability and affordable access to Gen 6 Fibre Channel storage networking technology . To support their ever evolving storage environments , organisations can start with eight ports and grow on demand with up to 24 ports per switch . In addition , the Brocade G610 switch is easy to use and install , with a point-and-click user interface that simplifies deployment to save time . For further information visit : www . brocade . com

Harting connector module enables machinery production process improvements

Harting has expanding its range of smart connectors which can provide identification of key machine components or functional control elements and are also increasingly being deployed for machinery predictive maintenance .
Communication can be performed using inexpensive bidirectional systems like the I2C bus , as well as standardised bus systems such as CAN Bus .
Following on from the already established I2C ID module , the new CAN ID module is the latest product in the smart Han series . Implementation as a Han-Modular module ensures that identification is flexibly integrated into interfaces which supply machines with power , data and signals , in the most optimum space saving manner possible .
The Han-Modular ID module offers the double functionality of an identification tool and data storage device and paves the way for the customisation of the machine unit .
In addition to local machine control , industrial Wi-Fi modules provide easy connection with the Industry 4.0 manufacturing environment .
The CAN ID module also enables the current configuration of the drives to be tested and the parameters that are determined to be transmitted to all other drives and the controller .
For Industry 4.0 applications , integration takes place via network enabled devices or , in future , directly via an Ethernet interface . This in turn implements end-to-end networking of the data . For further information visit : www . harting . co . uk

D-Link debuts three-megapixel bullet outdoor camera

D-Link has extended its Vigilance camera range with the addition of the DCS-4703E , a three-megapixel , Power over Ethernet ( PoE ), day and night bullet camera , which is ideal for outdoor installations .
The DCS-4703E has a small footprint for discrete positioning and supports PoE standard 802.3af , providing power and networking connectivity with a single cable for ease of installation . This camera is ideal for security installers looking to expand their outdoor digital video surveillance offering . The camera ’ s built-in infrared LED provides long distance night vision of up to 20m . Wide dynamic range ( WDR ) together with 3D noise reduction helps to further enhance the image quality of the DCS-4703E .
Paul Routledge , D-Link ’ s UK & Ireland country manager , said , ‘ The addition of the DCS- 4703E to our Vigilance range provides installers with a multimegapixel outdoor surveillance solution . Installed outdoors with minimal fuss , this new camera provides detailed images without compromising on quality and reliability .’
The DCS-4703E is fully compatible with D-Link ’ s free D-ViewCam software which allows for up to 32 D-Link network cameras to be centrally managed , viewed in real-time and recording based on motion detection or schedule . For further information visit : www . dlink . com
