Up close
and personal
This past year Xirrus has
introduced a groundbreaking
solution called EasyPass
Personal. It offers the first
and only solution on the
market that allows a secure
private connection to be
created within a public Wi-Fi
network. EasyPass Personal
Wi-Fi allows users to create a
secure personal network via
a simple, one-time process
that authenticates all devices,
ensuring the data across their
platforms is safe inside the
public network at all times.
Unlike a virtual private
network (VPN), which
encrypts end-to-end
connections back to a
corporate network and
requires additional software,
EasyPass Personal enables
users to easily create their
own secure personal network
that automatically encrypts
the data on the Wi-Fi
network. For the first time,
businesses can easily offer
security on their public Wi-Fi
networks without additional
complexity.
Now, customers that
deploy Xirrus Wi-Fi can
deliver the safest network
available and protect their
users from cyber crime, while
still keeping them connected
and productive.

Points of view
Veracity has launched Pointsource Wireless, an innovative tool for security installers designed to ease the installation
of IP cameras, simplify complex site surveys and run simple desktop IP camera demos without external power.
The new Wireless version of the popular Pointsource product line adds IEEE 802.11b/g/n/ac wireless network
support across both 2.4 and 5 GHz spectrum to view IP video directly on any mobile video-capable device including
Microsoft, Apple and Google-based smartphones, tablets and laptops.
Pointsource Wireless includes a rechargeable battery-powered Power
over Ethernet (POE) injector with two RJ-45 10/100 Ethernet ports
designed to enable security installers to setup, test or demonstrate
IP cameras in an installation, even if no network or power
connection is yet available.
The standard package offers a
Pointsource Wireless unit including
high capacity battery module,
charger and carry strap with
additional batteries and chargers
available as optional accessories.
The product is covered by a two
year warranty and will be available
from all Veracity distributors.

Improved visibility
Aruba has introduced a new suite of integrated networking software and hardware solutions. The new portfolio
enables IT teams to anticipate and resolve connectivity problems, and create secure policies to build digital
workplaces that are optimised to boost employee productivity.
With massive volumes of devices connecting to the network, IT teams require detailed visibility into the
access layer – at the user, device, and App level – to keep productivity high and ensure business continuity. Aruba
Clarity, a new software module for Aruba AirWave network management, delivers powerful and intuitive forensics
so that IT teams can anticipate and quickly resolve connectivity problems before the user is affected, rather than
troubleshooting after the fact. With Aruba Clarity, AirWave can monitor a broad set of metrics proactively such
as the time it takes for a mobile device to associate with a Wi-Fi radio, authenticate to a RADIUS server, obtain
an IP address through DHCP, and resolve names for DNS services. Clarity allows network operations teams to
gather this information not only as Wi-Fi clients connect and roam, but also with on-demand or scheduled client
simulation tests running between Aruba access points (APs).
Additionally, the new AirWave 8.2 release gives IT professionals detailed information on the amount of
airtime wasted on web content that has been assigned a lower priority category and reputation, so they can take
proactive action and improve Wi-Fi health. Enhancements to AirWave’s VisualRF feature set allow for time-lapse
visualisation of Wi-Fi coverage for up to 24 hours, dramatically reducing the time and manual intervention it takes
for wireless network engineers to identify negative trends in Wi-Fi coverage.
