Consciousness , and self consciousness , have driven humanity collectively to the possibility of destroying human consciousness , and consciousness is humanity .
The Ionic Greek “ epistashai ,” having a literal meaning of “ over-stand ,” equates with a dominant picture of man standing powerfully astride over nature and the implied violent narrative of power , the postulate of the powerful and the expedient actions of modern warfare . Equally , now we the people announce in various ways our collective opposition by wanting to stand in moral governance over our own senses and actions . This requires discipline . This requires love . Are we individually , or collectively , just a resource to implement pernicious ideologies for power mad humans ? Ultimately if we don ’ t change their course , we submit to our collective extinction .
