This session will offer tools such as Universal Design for Learning that will help you address assumptions about visitors and minimize barriers to a quality experience for all audiences, including visitors with disabilities, seniors, children, and English Language Learners. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, MA Collaboration is King Amongst Cape Cod Museums What happens when a group of museum administrators and a community credit union become a large supportive group? Why would museums and historical societies join? Is there competition or are they better off collaborating? What impact has this had on the museums? Be part of a discussion with the Cape Cod Museum Trail and hear about the impact it has and how collaboration and sharing among museums can enhance each entity. Thro ugh “lessons learned” we will consider how to build confidence and prompt participants to think of ways to strengthen trust between colleagues and visitors. The session will involve brainstorming approaches to a variety of scenarios in communication, team building and programming, and will conclude with a Q & A and sharing back of ideas.  Facilitator: Shannon Burke, Director of Education & Visitor Services, Harriet Beecher Stowe Center, CT Don’t You Forget about Me: A Forum for Generation-X Museum Professionals This session builds on previous years’ discussions at the conference and will provide a forum for Gen-X (or mid-career) professionals to connect with each other and have in-depth conversations about their museum careers. Topics will be decided by the group, and may include: professional “SWOT” analysis, personal branding, determining next career steps, defining training needs, and more. A speed networking activity will get the party started.
