The NCSTIIID has two national meetings planned for the 2018-2019 school year.

November 14, 2018: NCSTIIID will be meeting simultaneously with La Cosecha in Santa Fe, New Mexico.

An additional meeting has been scheduled in order to discuss the purpose and vision of NCSTIIID including possible changes to the way the NCSTIIID is organized and focused. This will be a full day of meetings with federal updates and networking time in addition to the NCSTIIID organizational discussions. Registration is open for this meeting. We look forward to seeing you there.

March 6, 2019: The regularly scheduled 2019 NCSTIIID Annual National Meeting will be held in Coronado Springs, Florida, once again in collaboration with NABE.

Cutting edge information from the EL field

Participants will have access to exhibitors and networking time with colleagues and EL advocates (national, state, and local). Registration is open.

The 2018 NCSTIIID Annual National Meeting

The NCSTIIID National meeting was held February 28th, 2018, during the National Association for Bilingual Education’s (NABE) Pre-Conference Institutes.

The agenda was filled with high quality presentations and excellent network opportunities which included:

* Updates from the U.S. Department of Education’s (USED), Office of State Support (OSS) and Office of English Language Acquisition (OELA)

* Research finding from Drs. Wayne Thomas and Virginia Collier

* Discussion on Family Engagement from a panel of distinguished guests

The meetings included discussions related to the purpose and vision of NCSTIIID, including significant considerations about changes to the way the NCSTIIID is organized and its foci moving forward. These discussions will be continued at our next National Meeting, Nov. 14, 2018 in Santa Fe.
