NCSTIIID Honorary Member Dr. David Holbrook

Congratulations to Dr. David Holbrook, the first recipient of the NCSTIIID Honorary Membership. David received this honor for his significant contributions to NCSTIIID.

In addition to holding the executive board positions of Secretary, Pres-elect. President (twice), Past President, and Advisory Board member, David has served the organization behind the scenes in many ways. David has supported NCSTIIID as webmaster, historian, and conference organizer. David drafted and co-presented numerous presentation on behalf of the council at Title I, International TESOL and NABE. He was instrumental in acquiring non-profit status for the organization and writing and editing many of the organizations documents including editing the bylaws and crafting recommendations for reauthorization of ESEA. David has mentored the NCSTIIID presidents who came after him and has advocated tirelessly for English Learners.

David previously worked with the Wyoming Department of Education in various roles including, Director of Title I, Title III and Native American Education and ultimately Federal Programs Division Director. He is currently the Executive Director of Federal Programs for TransACT communications.

David will continue to serve the NCSTIIID by acting as Historian, Web support and other duties as assigned.

What do the Bylaws say? Honorary memberships are available to individuals or groups, who by virtue of selection by the Executive Board are awarded complimentary lifetime membership because of their significant contributions to NCSTIIID and/or the work of the organization.
