School is back in session and fall is in the air! This time of year signifies a time of new opportunities for both students and teachers. The secondary math team hopes that your year has gotten off to a wonderful start and would like to share some updates and new resources for Secondary Math. Save the Date! Principles to Actions Regional Professional Development* NCCTM Fall Leadership Conference District 5: October 1, 2015 (Village Inn, Clemmons NC) November 4, 2015 Koury Convention Center Greensboro, NC District 3: October 8, 2015 (CCRESA, Raleigh NC) NCCTM State Conference Come experience the action required to ensure that ALL students become mathematical thinkers and are prepared for any academic career or professional path they choose. November 5-6, 2015 Koury Convention Center Greensboro, NC *Contact your RESA for sessions in your district. The secondary math team, in collaboration with the field, testing and accountability, has recently updated the unpacking documents with new notes, examples and illustrations. Additionally, a clarification document notes all of the relative changes and instructional impact of the changes. Indicators for Advanced Functions & Modeling, Discrete Math and Precalculus New resources are now available for AFM, Discrete Math and Precalculus to help districts and teachers to understand the instructional expectations of these fourth level courses All are docs available on the Secondary Math Wiki.
