T
he first issue of Naturally Kiawah was published
over 20 years ago. Since then we’ve covered
much of what makes Kiawah such a special
place. Now we’d like to turn it over to YOU!
We’d like to take a closer look at some of Kiawah’s
mysteries, and we need your help. What is there about
Kiawah Island that YOU would like to explore? Which of its
mysteries would you like to see studied in more detail? What
makes Kiawah unique to you, and do you want to learn more
about what makes it so special? Want to learn more about our
bobcats? Was there ever really a cougar? What do we know
about the Native American tribes that first settled here and
is there evidence of them on the Island? Do we have many
venomous snakes? How many loggerheads have we seen
born? What are sand dollars? How do the new setback
lines affect Kiawah?
Send us your suggestions, descriptions, photographs,
and ideas. Contact us at [email protected].
We promise to do all we can to find out even more about
what makes this such a magical place. And, hey, if you’d
like to contribute to the magazine, we’d love to publish
some reader contributions. We’re calling this next issue
“KiaWONDER,” and the more you help, the better it
will be!
See you in the spring of 2019 with a new issue of
Naturally Kiawah. NK
