Owls can turn their heads 270° in either direction.
Because of their specialized feathers, owls are very
quiet in flight. This allows them to fly very
close their prey without being heard.
Owls are nocturnal (active at
night). They feed on insects,
small mammals, and
sometimes other birds.
Many swallow their prey
whole, but are unable to
digest all of their meal.
Therefore, they cough up
pellets of bones, fur, and
feathers.
