2007 2008 2009 The Kiawah Conservancy and the Town of Kiawah Island initiate a bobcat GPS study. The study is ongoing and a total of 64 bobcats have been captured and fitted with GPS collars. This project remains the longest continuous GPS study on bobcats in the world. The Conservancy relocates to its new offices at Kestrel Court. Kiawah Conservancy and the Town of Kiawah Island launch the Kiawah Island Bird Monitoring program and open the first Kiawah Island Banding station on the western end of the Island. The Conservancy initiates an important study of alligators on Kiawah. The Conservancy presents the third in a series of annual symposiums, this one featuring alligators. Kiawah Conservancy joins the ranks of almost 200 land trusts across the country that have achieved accreditation from the Land Trust Accreditation Commission, an independent program of the Land Trust Alliance. 67
