TOGETHER WE ARE MAKING ALL THE DIFFERENCE! 18  years ago, the Kiawah Conservancy was born as a grassroots movement to preserve and maintain our Island’s habitat. Thanks to you, we’ve come a long way. Have a look at some of our mutual accomplishments. KIAWAH ISLAND, 2 3 4  Kiawah Island Banding Station One of the largest and most respected banding stations on the East coast. Research provides information critical to preserving and protecting our resident and migratory birds. A second station opened on Little Bear Island this summer. Naturally Kiawah WINTER/SPRING 2011 VOLUME 25 Pluff Mud Paddle ANN CRANE Held in June of this year, our kayak trip was an unqualified success. This is just one of our popular mothly Conservation Matters programs designed to both entertain and inform and offered free to everyone.
