Kiawah Island: Seasons in the Sun
Looking Forward to Naturally Kiawah Volume 33

A year ago when we solicited input for our
issue on your “101 Things We Love about Kiawah,”
Tina Schell submitted a wonderful description of how
the Island changes through the seasons. Her article
inspired the theme for our next issue – the four seasons
on Kiawah Island.
Many of us chose Kiawah to escape the chill
of winter in northern regions. Most of the time we
remain happy with that decision, except, perhaps, for a
few memorable days in February once in a while when
we spent our days sliding around on ice and wondering
what to do with the black, dripping plants that dot our
gardens. Luckily for us, those days are few and far
between. What is special about Kiawah, however, is
that in addition to enjoying fairly temperate winters,
we still have the pleasure of seasons – sparkling
spring days where everything begins to bloom and
our favorite songbirds return; bright summertime
afternoons with a sun that never quits but a gentle rain
brings a little welcome relief without ruining the day;
long, slow moving fall days where the warmth of the
summer sun lingers; shorter winter mornings when we
can usually still manage a leisurely walk on the beach.
We want to share your photos, articles,
memories and favorite times of the seasons that you
enjoy on Kiawah. Contact Jennifer Woody at 843768-2029 or [email protected]

highlighting your favorite time of the year on the
Island.
