72 No. To the End of the Island My family has been vacationing in Kiawah every summer for the past 15 years and one of our favorite things to do is to go on bike adventures around the Island. One of our favorite rides is to head to the eastern tip of the Island where the houses disappear and only pristine beach and marsh remain. We usually ride down on the beach and then work our way back through the interior of the Island. I got this shot from my bike at the front of the pack as we made our way down the beach. - Jon Cook 74 Number Number 73 Jungle Cruise Where else can you take a jungle cruise on a bicycle? - Cathy Ladner Boardwalk #39 The undulating path of Kiawah Island’s Boardwalk # 39 is one of the best approaches to the beach. The shore and waves are barely visible as you move under the canopy of trees toward the water. In the spring and summer, does and their fawns often mosey under the walkway and through the dunes parallel to the beach. Turn to the left and see the Beach Club gazebo and beyond. Turn to the right and see The Sanctuary and beyond. And straight ahead is the sea. - Photoraphs courtesy of Shauneen Hutchinson
