29 No. Dolphins Ann Gridley 31 No. 30 # From the flight of a bald eagle to the first crawling steps of a baby loggerhead, one is surrounded with the amazing beauty of nature on Kiawah. I have spent many hours at Captain Sam’s Spit and was lucky to see these miraculous moments. What a joy it was to experience these standfeeding dolphins bursting from the waters edge and a mother and pup frolicking in the warm sun. I am so pleased to have captured these once-in-a-lifetime moments in unaltered photographs to preserve those memories. - Catherine Lively Fish Buffet This was the second time I have had the blessing to watch the dolphin strandfeeding. It is such a thrill. I love the heron looking on doing the dance hoping to get seconds on the fish buffet! - Sharon Templin Number 32 Dolphin Sightings One of the things I love about Kiawah is the abundance of wildlife. The dolphins are always a joy to watch and I’ve found the two best spots to see them are at either end of the Island. This shot is from the eastern end at low tide when there are plenty of shallow pools and sandbars available for exploring (both for humans and dolphins) with the rest of the Kiawah beach and The Sanctuary in the background. - Jon Cook
