EK BİNADA, YAPI ÇEVRESİNİ ÇEPEÇEVRE SARAN, YATAYDA VE DÜŞEYDE YÜKSELEN TAŞ BLOKLARIN TANIMLADIĞI BİR CEPHE TASARLANMIŞ. IN THIS EXTENSION PROJECT, THE FAÇADE CONSISTING OF MASSIVE STONE BLOCKS SET VERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY, SURROUNDS THE WHOLE VOLUME. Perraudin’s solution was the design of a massive stone block stacking system inaugurated in the project at Vauvert in 1998 but in a more simple and spare geometry reflective of the higher symbolism of the religious setting. The geometry of the design is characterized by the use of a colonnade of vertical monolithic columns that completely lines the periphery of the building. Perraudin brings the verticality of the individual columns together in a horizontal composition as the columns are repeated around the building in a colonnade that seemingly echoes ancient Greek temples.
