BANYO ZEMİN VE TEZGAHLARINDA NERO ZİMBABWE TAŞI TERCİH EDİLMİŞ. NERO ZIMBABWE STONE IS USED IN THE BATHROOM FLOORS AND COUNTERS. This mix of surfaces each distinctive in its texture, are subtly aligned based on the range of smooth to rough along natural tones of grey to brown. This design strategy of strong textures establishes the basis of the interior design for the T House. The foundation of stone mixed with wood and concrete creates the strong design identity for the interior that is then highlighted with a collection of in-built and free standing furniture and art works. These establish the distinctiveness of the design as foreground elements with a strong degree of symbolic and formal character combining with a rich formal layer of textures in the background. Overall there is a highly distinctive focus on establishing design character in a setting charged with cultural symbolism. With the rapid changes in wealth constantly transforming the ideas of design, taste and character in Istanbul’s dynamic urban setting projects such as the T House point to strategies that balance the demands of modernity and local features.
