görülmüş Asos’taki B2 Evi... Ağa Han Jürisi’nin proje
hakkındaki yorumu Akdeniz mimarisinin çağdaş
yorumlarının bağlamları dahilinde ele alındığını
kanıtlar nitelikte: “Yepyeni, benzeri görülmemiş bir
yaratım ancak bir yandan da, yer aldığı ortamdan
koparılması olanaksız bir parça.”
Geleneksel mimarinin çağdaşa aktarılmasında
değişen hayat tarzının etkili olduğunu söylemek
mümkün. Dışarıyla daha bütüncül bir yaşam
tarzı, ortak alanların seneler içerisinde dönüşüme
uğraması ve en basit olarak güneşlenme gibi
aktiviteler bu çağdaş yapıların daha çok açık alana
sahip ve dışarıyla bütünleşen bir kurguya sahip
olmasını beraberinde getiriyor.
Gümüş-Su Villaları’nda taş duvarlar ve aralarında
uzanan geniş cam yüzeyler en yalın biçimde
mekanları tanımlıyor. Her bir evi oluşturan salon,
yatak odası ve ıslak hacim birimleri birbirinden

traditional architectural features to the contemporary. A
more integrated life style with the outside environment,
the transformation of public spaces and most simply,
activities like sunbathing bring new designs that have
more open areas an integration with the outside
environment.”
Considering the design background of these types of
buildings and the changing lifestyle that created them,
the basic design idea of Gümüş Su Villas is to define the
single house unit strictly within a square, repeat it five
times within the site and then leave the rest of the site
to nature. The stonewalls and the wide glass surfaces
define the different areas of the house in the most simple
fashion. The lounge, bedrooms, and bathrooms units
that comprise each house are presented as blocks that
are independent of each other. The rooms that make up
a single unit are detached as individual blocks so as to
create semi-open spaces in between. The open spaces
between these units are evocative of shady narrow alleys
that allow cooling breezes to pass through. Entry to
