dönüşümler mimariyi tarihselciliğin ötesine
taşıyor. Osmanlı ve Türk konut mimarisi ahşaba
dayalıyken, ‘Türk evi’nin Sedad Hakkı Eldem
gibi mimarlar tarafından yapılan 20. yüzyıldaki
örnekleri betonarmeydi. Mimarlar burada Andezit
taşını prekast beton ile birlikte kullanarak yeni
bir mimari yaklaşım elde ediyorlar. Strüktür ve
malzemeler (beton ve taş) anlatım değeri ile
birlikte 21. yüzyıl için bir hükümet binasında Türk
milli kimliğini ortaya koymayı başarıyor. Mimari,
yapısı, malzeme temeli ve görsel karakteri bir
arada hükümetin ve kullanıcıların ihtiyaçları ile
modern mimarinin hedeflerini etkin bir şekilde
buluşturuyor.
Kolon, kiriş, saçak
ve taş kaplama
gibi temel mimari
elemanlar Türk
evinin mimari
karakterini yapıya
taşıyor.
Basic
architectural
elements such
as columns,
beams, eaves and
stone cladding
generate an
architectural
character
associated with
the Turkish house.
The overall geometry of the building represents a gesture towards
Turkish and Ottoman precedents. But the architects transformations
of this architectural style in material and function move the
architecture past historicism. Ottoman and Turkish domestic
architecture was based on timber while 20th century examples
of the “Turkish House” by the likes of Sedad Hakkı Eldem were in
reinforced concrete. Here the architects have used the Andesite
stone cladding along with precast concrete to achieve a new
architectonic approach. Structure and materials, concrete and stone
are expressive, yet they also serve to represent Turkish national
identity in a governmental building for the 21st century. The
architecture, its structure, material basis and visual character, work
to effectively to balance the needs of government, its users and the
goals of modern architecture.
