‘Infinitely Near’ (Sonsuz Yakın)
Seton’un vahada maskeleriyle
dolaşan ışıltılı, plastik, -ama aslında
mermer- palmiyelerle bezeli, hayali
uzakdoğusu... Bunlar, suluboya
çizimleri kendi dev boyutları ardında
etkisiz bırakan, aslında olmayan
imkansız nesneler.
The exhibition ‘Infinitely Near’
is Alexander Seton’s imagined
far east, outfitted with glistening
plastic palm trees masquerading
at the oasis, made from marble.
They are impossible buildings that
never existed, built in drawings and
watercolours that are hushed by the
largeness of the objects.

T-shirt gençlik modasının çok belirgin bir özelliği, üzerindeki
grafikler, logolar, yazılarla bir kişisel ifade, beyan aracı...
‘Assembly’ (Montaj) sergisindeki mermerden t-shirtler ise
sosyal medya çağındaki açık kamusal dürüstlüğe dair bir
huzursuzluğu taşıyor.
The t-shirt is a particular manifestation of the fashion of young
adulthood. Self expression through graphics, logos, statements
political or otherwise. The carved marble shirts in the ‘Assembly’
exhibition suggest the discomfort with the open public honesty
of the age of social media.
