Scientific Method in the Fringe Science Community

With the talk of advancing fringe science to mainstream science, we must look at "What can we do to move fringe science forward?" Knowing that fringe science is considered a pseudoscience, we must use scientific methods to move to a mainstream science.

Science, in general, is knowledge or a system of combined knowledge that covers general truths along operation of general scientific laws as obtained and tested through the use of the scientific method. To help define the scientific method you must understand the basic meaning of it. The simplest definition is, "principles and procedures for the systematic pursuit of knowledge involving the recognition and formulation of a problem, the collection of data through observation and experiment, and the formulation and testing of hypotheses".

Now with a basic understanding of the

equipment, library, and geological societies and other proven sources. The more information we gather, the better we can help others with explanations of why current things may happen. It also helps to gather information from other organizations, such as Project Endeavor with the National Paranormal Society. Project Endeavor is an example of using the same forms, questions and databases to gather information in a scientific method that can help move the fringe science forward by combining statistics, commonalities and events.

With the large abundance of information available, is it possible for us to move this field forward? The simple answer to this question is, yes, we can. We, as a community must be certain that we are all doing our due diligence and working toward the goal of move it forward. Evaluating and documenting as much as possible using logic and reason in conjunction with projects like Project Endeavor we can move to find a connection to move the field forward.

scientific method, let’s move on to the fringe sciences. What does fringe science cover? It covers a wide variety subjects including, but not limited to, ghosts, hauntings, UFOs, aliens, cryptids, ancient mysteries, occult, demonology, teleportation, psychic abilities and reiki.

As an investigator or researcher in any field of the fringe sciences, using a scientific method can be very useful. Being skeptical in your investigations and research is a great way to maintain the ability to approach things logically. Having a clear mindset when evaluating any claim is an important part of any work in the fringe sciences. All evaluations of a client's claims, something reported through and internet post, or possible evidence captured on a video, in a picture or an audio recording must be approached with logic and scientific knowledge.

With today's technology, we have to collect data and research every possibility to find a logical explanation first. Thus, we must question clients, gather data via
